Design Thinking reminds us to take the road less travelled. Through ‘design thinking’ we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in order to find alternative solutions – it is a process for creative problem solving.

Design Thinking is about designing for humans – it revolves around a deep interest in developing an understanding of the people for whom we’re designing the products or services. It is extremely useful in tackling difficult problems-by re-framing the problem in human-centric ways, then brainstorming prototyping, sketching and testing.

Design Thinking is often referred to as ‘outside the box’ thinking, as designers are attempting to develop new ways of thinking that do not abide by the dominant or more common problem-solving methods, much like artists.

This way of thinking affords us a window into how users interact with products, and ways in which we can improve both the product and the user experience.
